Standing Up for Mount Roskill, Every Day!

Mount Roskill is my home, and the reason I serve. My wife Julie and I have lived here for over 20 years, our three sons go to local public schools, and we’re out in our parks, shops, streets, and buses every day. This community isn’t just where I live; it’s what drives me.

I’ve represented Mt Roskill at every level — on the Puketāpapa Local Board, as your MP for seven years, and as a senior Minister. In every role, I’ve focused on delivering real results: safer streets, better transport, stronger local services, and investment that builds a connected, sustainable future.

Labour has a plan to take real action on the cost of living, jobs, health, and housing. As your next Labour MP I will be in a position to take action for our community on these key issues.

I’ve worked alongside our schools, community groups, and service providers to strengthen the support families rely on. I’ve fought for fair wages and safe workplaces, including taking on major cases where employers breached people’s rights — and winning. When people need someone in their corner, I step up.

Service to our community is part of who I am. I’ve served on the local Plunket Committee and a school Board of Trustees, and in 2023 I founded the Mt Roskill Community Association, which now runs free housing clinics for residents who need advice and advocacy.

Most importantly, I stay present and accessible. I listen. I help people navigate challenges. I work with residents to solve real problems. There’s more to do, and I’m ready to keep fighting for Mount Roskill.
